
The James E. Owens Jr. Scholarship for Future Educators

James E. Owens Jr. was an educator, who was taught the importance of education and made it his life’s mission to nurture future minds. Do Mo’ Foundation believes in continuing James’ mission and supporting those who also believe in enrichening the minds of our future leaders. That is why the James E. Owens Jr. Scholarship for Future Educators was established. This one-time $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one recipient each year who has demonstrated academic achievement, personal integrity, service to his or her community, and looking to pursue a career in education.
Who’s eligible for this scholarship?

Graduating high school senior
-
3.0 GPA or higher and planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary college or university (Provide copy of enrollment & high school transcripts)

Must pursue a degree in education and/or school counseling

Must have demonstrated community involvement

Essay describing a significant educational experience that inspired you to pursue a career in education
